1. Stop/HALT - almost feel like I don't have time to stop, too much to do, too many people want/need too many things from me, all on deadline, no time for me to stop long enough to focus on my own sanity!
2. Determine what the problem is - stressed/frustrated.
3. Come up with THREE possible courses of action -
- - - - - - - a. keep going til I hit a wall & have my usual breakdown
- - - - - - - b. call a time-out, lay my cards on the table and see where things go from there.
- - - - - - - c. grab tiny bits of sanity & breathing space wherever possible.
4. Figure out which one is best for now - as much as I'd love to do B, gonna have to wait. My best bet is to keep doing C until A happens. *sigh*
5. DO IT! Yeah. Uh-huh. Bye!
Ugh. I need me some serious Calgon right now.
The stress is making me crack a little at the edges and I'm losing my compassion, especially for the thick-headed stubborn snotty ones who need my compassion the most. *sigh*

Can I ask why B has to wait? It seems you've been at this level of stress for a couple of months, at least. C isn't working all that great, so why not B?

Well, c can be a first step on the path to b. Or another option may come to mind when the full effects of c have set in.

Why not B now? Cuz I'm not in the right frame of mind to lay my cards gently on the table. I'd be more likely to throw all the cards in the air and storm out. Kind of like a pressure cooker -- take off the lid properly and you'll end up with bits & pieces everywhere. Take it off slowly and you've still got a salvageable meal.
