I am 56, have been married to an incredible guy, 31 years, have 4 grown children and 4 grandchildren. 16 years ago, I went to a psych. for diagnosis of depression, etc...treated and diagnosed wrong...and after 8 years of not feeling different, I went off meds. Then several years ago, I began to look into "depression" again...finding a dianosis from another psychiatrist as depressed with anxiety...Then, I read some BPII things that made me want to be treated for that....After a year of "some help", I realizle lots of my struggles are BPD. This is a brand new diagnosis for me, as I have just realized it yesterday! Amazing! I am to go into my PA tomorrow to discuss this, and it should be interesting.
Hello, there. I'll be around here.

Hi there - welcome to BPDR!
For what it's worth, I too went through the "depression with anxiety" diagnosis. I don't know about for you but when I read about BPD, it was like "Good grief, how could they NOT have seen this earlier - it's SO freakin' obvious!!!" But yes, it's quite a relief to put a label on it, to know that it's not just in your head (you know what I mean), to have a reason for being, to know that you're not alone in the quandry.

Thanks, both of you, for the welcome and the validation. I will be around....just enough...but not too much. I am realizing that "focusing on MI too much" can have a negative effect on me. You know the saying: "Whatever you focus on looms large"? However, I would like to "give" a bit and recieve.
