Hi guys, i'm Ashlee. i'm 16 (i know i fibbed to the PC because we can't fax or mail to america and mum consents!) I'm from australia, and i got diagnosed with BPD About 2 months ago. It really opened up my eyes on how much it rules me at the moment. I have derealisation moments where i can't control anything, i can't control my body, my thoughts, my actions, my words. nothing. i rock back and forth and HELL that screws me up majorly. this has taken a big toll on my family life and socialisation towards others and my relationship with my boyfriend (3 years this year yay!) i'm currently on 50mg of Sertraline and will be getting upped shortly slowly reaching 200mg. i also have dysthymia, and generalised anxiety disorder. i'm barely coping day to day and i'm a bit of an animal lover, so my "babies" help me a lot!! i'm really sorry i had to fib about my age too!! please dont ban me!

I wouldn't worry too much about your age. That being said I'm not really good at dealing with teens, so forgive me for not giving you the greatest advice... I'm sure others here would be able to help.
First things first, good job on looking to get help, you have your whole life ahead of you and if you can kick the BPD then you'll have a much better life. That being said, let us know more about your situation. How often are you in therapy? What sort of steps have you been taking these last 2 months to get better?
I know nothing of dysthymia or derealisation moments so I won't touch them.
Sorry for the lack of info =S... check out the tools on the left side of the page though, they can be a great help and starting point to get better.

The minimum age is 13 because of COPPA. (If you do sign up for any over-18 forums, admitting it will almost certainly get you banned.)
Wait a minute, it only asks a before-or-after question. So the answer is "before" whether you're 13, 16 or 99.

glad medication is working well for you. Aside from medication, what are you doing? Are you getting CBT or DBT? Because medication does NOT cure borderline, it only helps alleviate some of the symptoms, like mood swings and depression.
