Hi All
I am a single mum to 5 children & this year I hit 40. In my late teens I was sent to a psychiatrist who diagnosed me as having an "extreme personality" - I was told that thinking at that time was that nothing could be done and as I got older the symptoms would lessen. The roller coaster ride was too much for my ex husband and we got divorced 10 years ago.
I have just separated from my current partner last week. We have been together on and off for 5 years now. Our relationship hasn't been the easiest both his parents and grandmother died within a 2 year period and his drinking escalated. I supported him as best I could pointing him towards AA which he has done well with (7 months sober) whilst trying to bring up 5 children on my own ( including our son who was born as his father discovered he was terminally ill).
I have seen a therapist and worked on my own borderline traits taking anti -depressants at times and genuinely thought I was improving. He walked out last Monday and says despite loving me sees no way forward as I am incapable of change. When my marriage ended 10 years ago I fell apart for 2 years as my ex husband had been "everything" to me; I have deliberately made sure I do not make my partner the centre of my universe so that I do carry on without him.
So that's me really I work from home, have few friends and feel socially isolated most of the time but my youngest starts school this year full time so I know that I will have the time to improve that this year. Hope to get to know some of you!
