we do not "train" a child. we TEACH. the best outcome is a child who grows up into a independent thinking, behaving in a healthy manner, adult who can think on their own and make good choices.

everyone learns by natural consequences. to keep a child from that is very crippling.

we should encourage a child to think for themselves, and be responsible for themselves as soon as we can.

when in life is hitting a logical consequence? it isnt. it teaches its ok to hit when they dont like something. the point isnt if it is abuse, but is it effective or not? the kid will never learn why to not do something if the only consequence is blows. it also teaches a kid another will be responsible for stopping their behavior, when it should be taught they themselves are responsible for their behavior.
