what in the heck is going on with me. I feel like I am having states of emotion or being that last much longer than a few days or weeks. These don't feel like mood swings... I go for a couple months in a depressed state and yet sometimes I feel completely manic for months - racing thoughts, unable to focus, can't read, distracted... can't concentrate.
I feel like I'm swinging back into what feels like hypomania. Anyone had experience with this??
I'm BPD for sure.. never had any bi-polar type diagnosis or anything. Can this just be part of the BPD?

My boyfriend sometimes becomes hypomanic; he has Bipolar.
I've never heard of somebody with BPD becoming hypomanic, however there is some confusion between BPD and Bipolar. Sometimes people are misdiagnosed with one instead of the other.
I'd pay your doctor a visit if this is worrying you.

I go through periods like that. Usually if something changes in my life. For example I could go from being depressed and not leaving my house and then if I get a man all of a sudden I call off of work all of the time, am staying up all night, spending money that I don't have, acting unusually confident, and euphoric about the future....
However, this only happens with a triggering event for me, never without one, and I have been in and out of treatment for years and was never diagnosed with bipolar only borderline....
I guess you could be bipolar. When you are manic are you unusually happy also? If so I would say that is definitely a bipolar sign.

manic people are not always happy. that would not be a bipolar sign at all.
oh, not even, believe me.
it does sound bipolar but no one can tell online...have you asked a pdr? or been tested?
it can be co morbid, they are from very diff causes and reasons.
i dont think bpd would cause mania of the bipolar type. just my opinion there on that.
