Hi! My name's Micaela, 23, and I've been diagnosed with BPD last year around October (though I didn't find out till about two or three months ago when it came up in therapy).

I'm currently in the constant struggle of finding a way to get better and I've always found online communities a big supporting "system" when rough times come a-knocking on the door.

But don't get me wrong! I don't come here in search of a safety net to fall back on in moments of crisis. I actually look forward to the conversations we can have about our personal experiences, how each learned to cope with different situations and therefore benefit from each others knowledge in one way or another.

To put it short... I'm plenty happy to have found this place! :D

P.S.: If anyone can give me tips on how to manage to get an avatar to be less than 9kb do please tell. I've done what little I know in photoshop with things I already had and the smallest number I can get is 20 kb.

Hi Micaela,

We're glad you found us!

Just wanted to give you a quick welcome. :welcome

As far as finding a small avatar, I just resized them(much easier than looking for a tiny one), and you can do that at this link - http://www.shrinkpictures.com/

I don't have actually a problem finding a small one size wise as I know how to resize and crop images on photoshop (years of online Role Playing have thought me that much xD ), but the "weight" of the image never gets to be anywhere close to the one the boar admits.

And I tried out your link... just in case that worked and my photoshop version was just acting silly, but no such luck.

Thanks for the link anyhow.

What type of image file is your avatar? I find most avatar-sized pictures are well within the 9kb limit... unless they're animated or an unusual file type. Gif or jpg is best, definitely not bmp. I tried to use an animated avatar once, and couldn't get it small enough, even though the animation was just a little star in one part of the picture twinkling. I don't know if either of those things are the cause of your problem, but thought I'd mention them!
