Hi Im lisa1969, I was diagnosed in 1999. It has taken me all these years to accept it. At first I didn't know what it meant. I thought this diagnosis was the end of my life. I'm coming to believe its only a description of part of me. It does not have to define me. The tools I've been reading about here offer real help to changing my destructive ways. Who knows maybe someday I will feel normal. Not so tortured.

Hi Lisa, welcome to BPDR!

The good news is that the torture all comes from within, you have control over it even when you don't feel like you do. Soon enough, with hard work and dedication to healthy living, you'll be able to live a happy life free of self-inflicted torture.

Ash is always so well-articulated. lol Ditto what she said ...

The tools will change your life, but it does take hard work and dedication to get there. In my opinion, the journey is worth it, because I believe with the help of others - friends, BB people, ts, we can accomplish a healthy life that we are proud to own.

Anyways, welcome .... glad you are here.

smiles,
