Hello everyone,
I am so glad there is a free resource on the internet for people like me. I was diagnosed with Schizophrenia but a friend kept going on about how I am BPD. I didn't listen...until I read his literature. I was totally shocked - I'm a text book case! The whole reclusive thing and getting very close to people then pushing them away and expecting them to come back, how I wanted my parents who abused me to come back to me and love me, parent me.
I am ready to change. I looked at the tools but they seem hard to implement at the moment. The main problem I have is feeling totally empty inside and having to drink alcohol everyday and chain smoke to try and alleviate this. I have now realised I am abusing myself. I have been drinking for 5 months now every other day - it's the only time I feel normal. Things have come to a head now, it seems the condition is at it's worst - I cannot socialise at all. I have now decided to quit all of this behaviour and just try and change with the help of this website. Thank you so much for creating this website and the forum.

Welcome to BPDR!
You're welcome to jump in wherever you'd like. We're here to give and get support from each other on all sorts of recovery-oriented topics. I'd suggest picking one of the Tools (to the left of the screen) - whichever one sounds best by name - and reading about it. See what it brings up for you. See what questions you have about it. See if you can find past events where the information in that Tool might have been helpful. Imagine how things would have turned out if you'd been aware of & able to apply the information in that Tool at the time of the event.
